Hi I'm Connor

19, American, Missionary, Recovering Codependent, I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hi, my name is Connor. Growing up, my family moved around constantly so it is difficult for me to call any place home - but an important lesson that I have learned is that wherever you can feel the Love of Christ, that is where home really is. I am a missionary. I speak Spanish. I just love people!! You can find good in anyone, anywhere. This I know!! I love new experiences and being with good, kind people. Skiing is my favorite thing in the entire world. I also love to scuba dive and listening to Coldplay, hahaha. And reading good books and helping others come to know who they really are, too.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I always had a solid testimony of God and His existence but I never understood where I fit in in the eternal scheme of things. I wasn't raised in a healthy environment, and this affected me a lot and limited my original spiritual growth. I didn't grow up under the best roof spiritually speaking and spent many years in great pain because of my limited understanding about the Atonement and about the people around me and their actions, and how I related to them. For years I prayed fervently for answers and for protection and strength from the Lord but it seemed as if my prayers were never answered. By some miracle I turned to the Book of Mormon during an especially dark time and found solace that helped me until greater help could come. When I turned 18, I made - perhaps not for the best reasons - the decision to serve a full-time proselyting mission for this church. That single decision was the greatest choice I ever made in my entire life. Know how Christ says that whoever will lose their life for His sake shall find it? Well, slowly but surely, that is what happened/is happening to me. During my mission experience, my testimony has been sharpened and polished, and to my astonishment, every single pleading prayer that I ever uttered during my youth has been answered. It is amazing. I have no words to describe it. As I have come to terms with my youth and the things that happened, I've been able to go to the Lord for healing and have felt of his Redeeming Love!!! Jesus has the power to save and cleanse and heal us, not just from sin but from harm that has come to us through no fault of our own!! I have come to know who I really am and understand my worth and value as a Son of God. I know this church is true and that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer!!

How I live my faith

I'm working on becoming the best person I can become. I've got big shoes to fill in walking in Christ's footsteps, but I know that by His grace I will get there someday!! I'm far from perfect and I try not to get in the habit of thinking others are. One of my missions in life I feel is to help people that are going through rough times. I love the gospel and it's teaching about who we really are, and our eternal worth. I'm not perfect, but I try to help others around me understand their worth and potential. I know that obedience to God's commandments always blesses us in the end, and I try to follow those with exactness and help others see how much God loves them and wants to bless them, too.
