Hi I'm Bruno Fernandes

I'm a husband and father. I was a table tennis champion. I love puzzles. And I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm married to a wonderful wife and we have three extraordinary children. Each of us was born in a different city. Before serving a full-time mission I was a table tennis national champion in a non-professional category. My mission call went astray and I got a call from my mission president telling me that I should be in the mission field 12 hours after that call. I was first place in the national ranking and needed to take a dramatic decision in a matter of seconds, but had no problem in deciding it because I had already made that decision years before. I have a degree in information technology with an MBA in Business Management. My wife has a degree in Letters and also as a Chef. I like assembling puzzles. I won my first puzzle of 1,000 pieces in a Christmas night and in the morning when everyone awoke it was already assembled. Since then I have mounted and framed puzzles from 1000-5000 pieces, my next challenge is an 8,000 pieces puzzle. Years ago I needed to cover the puzzles with a towel, over the dinner table, so that my little children wouldn't lose or eat any of the pieces! Today, they help me, but for several weeks the dining table is unavailable! Our family loves to walk trails and hiking, exploring new places, travel and have fun.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother met the Church when I was 3 months old. While my father was alive, he took my older brother and I on Sundays to soccer games, because we played on a team, so for a while I missed church very often, my mother took my sister and younger brother to Church every Sunday. My father passed away when I was 12 and since then my mother has taken all four children to Church, I then gayned my own testimony, left soccer on Sundays and began a career in table tennis because the tournaments were on Saturdays. As a member of the church and church leader, I like to serve people, to visit their home and help them in their difficulties and challenges. I've always been shy, but for some reason I like to make speeches at Church and teach gospel lessons, motivating people and encouraging them to live a better and happier life. I served as a full-time missionary for the Church for two years in Porto, Portugal, and it changed my life. I currently working with religious education among the youth of the Church, and I think there is no better job!

How I live my faith

I love my family, one night a week we meet to talk about spiritual things, and we pray and study the scriptures every day. We like to have quotes from our leaders taken from lds general conference in the walls of our home for six months and then switch them after next conference. We have lunch every day with the apostles and prophets (we have pictures of them next to our dining table). My wife works with genealogy since the age of 17, with ancestral branches going back hundreds of years. My wife and children accompany me very often in my work and activities with young people aged 14 to 30 years, in many places across Brazil.
