Hi I'm Megan

I grew up in Mexico City, Mexico. I love trying new things. I always look forward to big vacations and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Mexico City, Mexico but have lived in California for the past ten years. I am a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I want to become a nurse. I am serving a mission in Salt Lake City Temple Square! There are very few things I love more than the rain! I am an outdoorsy person, but also love snuggling up with a blanket inside on a cold night. And I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my whole life because my parents taught me their beliefs from a very young age. However I have my own personal conversion, and it was a bit of a process. It wasn't until I read the Book of Mormon on my own around the age of thirteen that I realized I needed to know for myself it was true. At that point in my life it wasn't enough for me to just think this church might be a good idea, I had to know for myself. Slowly over my teenage years I started to ask God questions about whether or not the Book of Mormon is true, if Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and ultimately if the Church was true. Each time I felt the Spirit tell me quietly that this was all correct. Life is still not always perfect. Hard trials are thrown our way and we always have room to grow. However I am happy. And I am talking about the kind that lasts through the hard times. I am forever grateful for my Savior to turn to for understanding and love. It is through acting on my faith and relying on Jesus Christ that I know this to be true.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith by serving others. I find three common themes on when I am the most happy. They are when I am with my family, giving service, and sharing my beliefs to those who want to listen. In my church I have been asked to teach a gospel doctrine class to people around my age and have grown tremendously in studying and preparing to teach. I've found that in each lesson, I walk away with deeper insight on how I can be a better follower of Jesus Christ.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Megan
Yes I definitely do. I believe that God is the same in the past as He is today. Just like in ancient times when God called prophets to teach, lead and direct His people, I believe that God continues to do so. God loves all of us so much that He has called a prophet today to help guide us, His children, in the confusing times we live in. I know that when I follow the counsel, and direction from the prophet I am much happier and more at peace. Show more Show less
