Hi I'm Ariane Stevens

I grew up in Georgia and going to BYU in Utah. I'm planning to major in music education to be a high school choir teacher.

About Me

I love to sing and I love it so much that I'm trying to major in it! Singing has been my creative outlet for as long as I can remember and has given me peace and comfort in times of sorrow. I lived in Mississippi when I was young but moved to Georgia 7 years ago. Through this move my mom was, and still is, my rock and I can't imagine life without her. I love her and my family and not just my biological family. To me family has always extended to those you surround yourself with who dearly love you. I love to spend time with my friends and to me the test of a true friend is how many inside jokes you have with them. Something crazy that I have noticed about best friends is that I can never remember how we meet. To me it doesn't matter how best friends meet, but the time you spend together matters most. Most of the friends I have met through some sort of choir and I'm so excited to make music my career. When I was 16, I was given the opportunity to conduct the hymns in church. I have done this for almost 3 years and I have felt so much of God's love through this talent. Music has power and gives strength and understanding. One of my favorite quotes says, "music is what feelings sound like," which is so true! I am a singer, a daughter, a friend, a future music teacher and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when I get nervous or scared or feel alone, I think of His sacrifice for us. When I am home alone, I get lonely and feel like I'm the only person in the world and that no one understands what I'm going through. I have been going through depression for the past 6 months and there are moments when I feel that I don't have any strength. I feel like the world is crashing around me and the only way out is to give up. When I feel these things I starts to pray and I pray to feel his love. I start to remember his sacrifice for us and I remember that He loved me enough to feel my pain and die for me on the cross. This gives me some comfort and I trust that He has a plan for us to return to his loving embrace because I love Him and strive to be closer to him and our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

In church, I conduct the hymns . This experience has helped me connect more with our church hymns. I love to get up in front of everyone and see everyone singing the songs I've sang my whole life. I love my faith
