Hi I'm Shalah Kay

I'm an aspiring artist from Arizona. I'm serving in the Texas Lubbock Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love anything artistic, music, art, film, or literature. I went to BYU-Hawaii for three years as a painting major. I moved a lot when I was younger, and went to a total of 11 schools before going to college. I grew up on a ranch with horses and cattle and learned the importance of prayer and cowgirl-up. I love combining my passions for art and the outdoors. I also enjoy learning about other countries and cultures and would love to learn a foreign language one day. I try and keep my faith the focus of all that I do. I'm currently serving a full-time mission in the Texas Lubbock Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of all the other choices, it made the most sense. The gospel teaches and actively tries to help others. It promotes charity among everyone on the planet, not just it's members. I chose to be a Mormon because of the love and kindness I felt in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I'm a student at a local Taekwondo dojang where I participate in the Leadership program to learn to teach and help younger students in the Karate4Kids program. I have the privilege of working with the four to ten year old students. I'm currently a missionary sharing with others the joy I found in the gospel.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Shalah Kay
We came to this life to do several things, and one of the most important was to receive a body so that we could experience the joy of having families and the experiences we have here in this life. Even though it's hard and we gain scars, the learning and joy that is possible far outweighs the pain. We also came to this life to be tested, to choose between right and wrong so that we could grow and return to our Heavenly Father. And thanks to his plan for us we can live with Him again.
