Hi I'm Heather

I've lived all over the United States and love sharing my passion for music. I'm a proud mother of two, & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband Ben and I met while studying at Brigham Young University. Shortly after marrying, we both graduated with our bachelors- mine in Secondary Education (emphasis in History) and Ben's in Psychology. Ben decided to further his career, and we're happy to say he's nearly done with his Graduate degree. It hasn't been easy, especially since starting our family in the thick of Ben's graduate work. But it has definitely been worth it! We're grateful for the countless blessings that have come our way. With two kids, it's not hard to stay busy, but we like to slow down by having picnics at the park and building blanket forts at home with Daddy. I've played piano since I was 8 and now teach while staying home with my kiddos. My husband and I are also currently training to run a 5K and are so excited!

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life, but I had to decide for myself that I believed what is taught just as if I had never heard of the church before. For me, it was a matter of how I felt. As a teenager, I decided I better find out for myself if this was the church for me or not. So I read the Book of Mormon (which is an account of ancient people in the Americas before, during and after Christ's time on the Earth). Then, I followed the guidance found in James 1:5-6 of the New Testament saying that if I lacked wisdom (which I did), to ask God. So I knelt down and prayed. I felt incredibly sweet peace in my heart that kind of radiated throughout my body (almost like goosebumps). It wasn't the first time I'd felt it, so I recognized it was the Holy Ghost confirming to me that I had found the truth God wanted me to find. From then on, my testimony has only grown stronger. I know the gospel is the only complete truth on the Earth today. It answers all my questions I could ever have, including why I am here and what I am supposed to be doing with my life. Even those I know of other Christian faiths have confided to me that they feel something missing or something doesn't quite add up. I challenge them to read the Book of Mormon for themselves and pray, then see how they feel. I believe God and his Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are real, and that they do answer our prayers if we ask. To say there isn't a God is one of the many lies Satan has perpetuated, and it's sad to see so many fall prey to such deceit. I believe God lives and loves us and as testament of His love, He has sent a prophet to lead and guide us in our day, just as He did in ancient times. This is my testimony of why I'm a Mormon in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I LOVE that I get to help out at church by teaching our young women on Sundays and by helping to plan youth activities. My husband and I are also part of our church's choir that performs at large church functions. We both love to sing, and I occasionally get to accompany them on piano as well.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Note above that Joseph Smith RESTORED the Church of Jesus Christ to the earth after the fullness and authority of God's church had been lost. Truly, this is Jesus Christ's church. Show more Show less
