Hi I'm Maika

I am half-Japanese. I love art history. I am an avid traveler. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am Japanese and American and am currently a college student at BYU. I love to travel around the world and experience different foods and cultures. I am studying art history because I am passionate about art and the lives of artists. I plan to work in a museum or educate people about the beauty and history behind the visual arts. I am also studying French and I love the language and speaking it. Additionally, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and snowboarding.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom was converted to this church when she was 20. I have grown up seeing her strong testimony in the church and that has made my testimony stronger because she is more content with the gospel in her life than without it. I know that this gospel allows us to live a happier life, influence those around us, and return to live with our Heavenly Father again. Through our Savior Jesus Christ, we can repent of our sins and be free of guilt. Because of his Atonement, we can be clean and live in heaven again. I am a Mormon because it makes me a better, kinder person and enables me to be with my family and Heavenly Father for eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to let the light of Christ shine through me. I try to treat everyone with the respect and love Christ would. I keep the commandments and counsel given by the Lord and his prophets. I attend church meetings and help out everyone in the community. I am serving a mission for this church to help others become as happy as I am through this gospel.
