Hi I'm Don

I grew up in the Salt Lake area and retired as a public school administrator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into an LDS family that was not very active. When I was 14 my family became active and I served a 2 year mission in Mexico. After I returned home, I married my high school sweetheart, and we have seven children, 29 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. I retired from public education after 29 years of service as a school administrator. I earned a Doctorate in Education, have served as a City Councilman, and in several Church leadership positions.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been raised is a less active family, that later became very active, I was able to see as a youth the difference between living the commandments and not living them. I was so impressed by the difference in my family's atmosphere that I determined to live by the teachings of the LDS Church the rest of my life. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ on the Earth today, and that by living the principles and doctrines of the Church we are brought closer to Jesus Christ and are able to live our lives in such a manner that we become more like Him every day.

How I live my faith

I participate in my church by serving others. I have served as an elected member of the State Board of Education for 12 years, I was elected as a City Councilman and served for 4 years. In the LDS Church I have served as a congregational leader, a youth leader with the Boy Scouts, a leader of adults, and in many other volunteer positions.
