Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in central Ohio. I love to travel the world and serve others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Airplanes are my favorite invention, I always have loved to travel. I have been very fortunate in being able to see many parts of the world, such as Australia, Canada, and Nicaragua. Of course, I'm not done yet; there are so many more places I would like to see. Having the opportunity to travel has set the foundation for my understanding of the importance of culture and my desire to give back to those who are in need. Serving others has become a huge part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't always a member. I didn't always know a lot about the church. I met the missionaries when I was 17 years old, right before my senior year of high school. I was at home and I heard the doorbell ring, and so I answered it. There was one missionary and a member standing on my front porch. I went outside and we started talking about missionary work, I thought it was cool that this guy not much older than me was giving up two years of his life to serve God. He then shared with me Joseph Smith's vision. The imagery was thought provoking, and it spoke to me. When they left, I thought that would be the last time I saw them, not really knowing a whole lot about what missionaries did, but thinking he had already had fulfilled his purpose. The next day, the same missionary came back, he was no longer with the member, but with his other two companions. He had meant to get my phone number the day before, but had forgotten. I don't know why, but I gave it to him. They invited me to come on a church tour and I accepted. When I went, I met a really nice lady who was the president of the girls youth group at the time. The missionaries, then invited me to church, and I went, and I loved it. I made new friends and I really started to feel like I was gaining my own personal relationship with God. As I continued to take the lessons with the missionaries, I could feel my testimony growing that, Heavenly Father does love us, Jesus Christ did die for me, so that my sins could be forgiven, and I couldn't deny that. I chose to be baptized only a month and a half after I met the missionaries for the first time, on September 14, 2013. The positive changes in my life since then have been such a blessing in my life. I never thought I would have such a strong relationship with my Savior, but I do and it is the most incredible and relieving feeling. I have never been happier in my life and I know that it is because of my personal relationship with Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures daily, praying whenever I need guidance, and by going to church every Sunday. When I was in high school, I participated in seminary, which is a scripture study class. I also live my faith by striving to live the commandments and by doing that which Heavenly Father tells me to do.
