Hi I'm Ray Golden Petersen

I grew up in Snowflake AZ, I love to play basketball, I'm a happy camper and I'm a mormon

About Me

I grew up loving to play basketball and I love to play as much as I can. I now am working full time trying to earn lots of money so I don't have to worry about to many bills when I start going to school again. I am person that likes to have fun, I believe that everything and every situation can be fun if you make it.

Why I am a Mormon

Let me ask you this question. Why not? I was raised in this Gospel but that does not mean that I didn't come to know that it was true for myself. My parents taught me from day one and raised me strictly with the standards given in this church, I never doubted that what they had been teaching me was the correct way. But my true conversion came through The Book of Mormon. I had read the book a couple of times before I actually sincerely prayed about it, after receiving encouragement from a teacher to pray about it, I read the promise given in Moroni chapter 10 vs. 3-5 which exhorts us to read, ponder and pray with faith about the Book of Mormon. So after reading it I knelt at my bedside and pleaded with the Lord to give me a firm answer that it was true. As I was praying I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace and comfort. It was the Holy Ghost and then I knew without a doubt in my mind that it was all true. I have never looked back since and I have always tried to live up to what I know is true. I have fallen short at times, but I am thankful for the savior in making it possible for me to repent of my mistakes. I know that Jesus Christ died for me and has rescued me from all my mistakes. All I have to do is my part which is live the gospel and repent when necessary.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday and partaking of the sacrament. I have a calling right now, I am the assistant Bishops Secretary for the singles ward that I attend. I set up appointments for the counselors to the bishopric and I ask people to give the opening and closing prayers in Sacrament meeting. I also try to share what I believe with the people I work with and people I meet who are not members of this church. I share it with them because it has made me happy and I know it can make everybody happy.
