Hi I'm Gail Holt

I grew up in Alabama. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to watch old movies and movies based on classic novels such as Jane Austen and J.R.R. Tokien, as well as reading classic novels and books written by Gerald N Lund. I also love reading The Book of Mormon. Like most Alabamians I love college football and I am a big fan of Alabama. I love all kinds of music, as my tastes are very eclectic and I love to listen to everything from jazz, classical, soft rock to country and just about anything in between. I occasionally write poetry, usually religious or just whimsical styles. I attended college for many years and also had been a licensed Master Cosmetologist for many years. I have also served as a missionary for the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the church is true in my heart. I have studied the gospel for myself and prayed and received answers to my prayers many times. I have seen the Lord's hand in my life and received many blessings as I've lived the gospel and I find a comfort and peace that tells me the church is true. There is a strong spirit about The Book of Mormon that I feel every time I read it. I have read it many, many times and yet each and every time I learn new things that show me that the Lord's hand in every page and every word.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live the gospel the best I know how each day. While not perfect, I do try to be kind and thoughtful of others and live the commandments. I read my scriptures each day and I pray all the time--in my car, while I am busy doing other things, whenever and wherever. I do my visiting teaching each month and have always been faithful in that assignment. I try to do my callings the best I can and have taught in women's meetings, and worked in various areas where needed over the years.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Gail Holt
No one is forced to serve as a missionary. But I can say from personal experience that it was a great time in my life I would never trade. It was such a blessing and I am so glad I chose to go when I was 21. I served 18 months in two missions. If I had the health I would go again. Show more Show less
