Hi I'm Hailey

I'm an ASL enthusiast. I want to become an interpreter. I love Doctor Who, Portal, and other nerdy things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student. I love doing the "old lady" stuff: crochet, knitting, cross-stitch. Anything that I can do with my hands is my favorite. My major is linguistics, and I'll be going to another college after I graduate from my current one to get an associate's degree in ASL/English interpreting. I hope to work for the FBI one day! I love American Sign Language. It's been my favorite language to learn so far. I also speak French and English; can you tell that I love languages? I am introverted. I am also an idealist. I enjoy watching movies, such as Inception, Phantom of the Opera, and Pacific Rim, just to name a few. I have three sisters, one brother, and two AWESOME parents. I miss them!

Why I am a Mormon

Lots of people think being a Mormon is about the not drinking, the not smoking, the not swearing, etc. But that's not what being a Mormon means to me. Being a Mormon means following God and Jesus Christ. I believe in Jesus Christ and in God, and I believe in their love for me. I feel the Holy Spirit whenever I go to church as I learn more about God's gospel and His plan for me. Feeling the Spirit is what keeps me going and why I continue to be a Mormon. I have a testimony (meaning that I can remember and know that the Holy Spirit has told me through feelings about truths) of His gospel.

How I live my faith

I pray every day, morning, night, and before every meal, to thank God for all He does for me. I go "visiting teaching", meaning that I visit other women in my congregation on a monthly basis. I help to organize activities for Sunday. I read the scriptures, and I've been reading the New Testament again to learn more about my Savior.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No way! In my congregation, we've organized several service projects for non-members. We love serving other people, especially others who aren't Mormon. We want to share the love our Savior has for all men. Show more Show less
