Hi I'm Addie

I have seven sisters and one sister-in-law. I dream about winning the Nobel prize in chemistry. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona in a family of nine children: eight girls and one boy. Being the second to youngest I had the example of countless siblings to help me find my way in the world. I spent the majority of my childhood riding bikes, building forts, swimming for hours in the pool, waking up to watch the sunrise, running tirelessly throughout the neighborhood backyards, and enacting original dramas with siblings and friends. I play piano and cello, and enjoy singing. At a young age I discovered the wonder in stories and have spent countless hours curled up on the chair in our living room reading. My dad taught me to appreciate classical music. My mom taught me to appreciate classic literature, recommending books that would take all summer for me to complete. I'm an optimist; I prefer to see the good in the world and those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was never one who doubted what I have been taught. Because I was brought up in a Mormon home, it became a lifestyle and it seemed strange to question it. All my life I have been surrounded by family, leaders, teachers and friends who believed in the gospel of Jesus Christ. But not only that, I was able to learn for myself whether or not I believed what I had been taught. And the feeling that came to me when I prayed to know the truth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was that I had known it was true all along. I have seen it bless the lives of friends and families, and I have felt the love of Christ in my own life. I believe in the Atonement of Christ, and I know that, because of this, I can be forgiven of the mistakes and sins in my life and feel the beauty of forgiveness. I know this, and I love this.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those around me. I recently received my mission call to Ventura, California and will be leaving in less than a month. This decision has helped me focus on my testimony and how I live my life. Because of this, I strive to keep the commandments given me to live a clean life. I work hard to be an example to those around me. At the moment, I teach the nursery age children at church on Sundays. Being with them has helped me feel the love God has for His children.
