Hi I'm Jeremy

I grew up in Colorado. I preached for many years. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of 3 kids. A boy, 6 years old, and 2 girls, ages 3 and 5. I was formerly a preacher, Baptist mostly. I realized people were misinterpreting the Bible more often than not, dove deep into understanding it better, and came out of my study with what I later understood to be LDS doctrine, found of my own accord. My family likes to bike, and we have bike trailers that pull the kids with us. And we love doing work with the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I discovered of my own accord that the Mormon doctrine is true. The Bible never says death, then heaven or hell. It tells us many times that there are three places. It breaks down the Priesthood in Hebrews 7, and this is only church that uses it. I am a Mormon because I have seen the healing power of a Priesthood blessing. I am a Mormon because I know Christ lives within this, the only church to bear his full name. I am a Mormon because we are The Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am the Branch Missionary, specializing in the Rescue list. I enjoy finding and talking to the inactive members. I am also a home teacher to a few widows and a few families, which I very much enjoy. I teach in Priesthood once a month. I like to tell others about the church regularly. I keep a stock of pass along cards with me (my favorite is the Articles of Faith) and I hand them out regularly. I give it to waitresses and pizza guys with their tip. I like to use the Articles of Faith because those 13 things form the core of our beliefs.

Are Mormons Christians?

A sign in front of a building identifies what is inside. If you go to a building that says "Main Street Elementary", you are sure to find K-5th graders there. Not high schoolers. Now let's look at the signs of different churches. I will use Baptist not out of spite but because I was once a Baptist preacher and their signs are rather stereotypical for most mainstream churches. Most usual signs will read something like this: South Village Baptist Church Pastor Jimmy Person Sunday School at 10 Services at 11 and 6 Is Jesus Christ on that sign? Ours says "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" Every one of ours says that. Look at only the signs, and tell me which church is the Christian church. One sign identifies it as Jimmy Person's church, which follows the teachings of the Apostle John. The other sign identifies it as being the Church of Jesus Christ. Which one is Christian? How can they call themselves Christian, and us not, when they cannot even take the time to put his name on the sign? Our signs do not even say the name of the congregational leaders, because they receive no glory. Our signs say "The Church of Jesus Christ". Why is that? Because it IS the Church of Jesus Christ. The sign tells you what is inside. Theirs tell you Jimmy is there to teach you from John's life. Ours tells you Christ is there. And that, to me, shows who the true Christian church is.
