Hi I'm Aleesa

I grew up in Tampa, FL. I am an Elementary Music Teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the gospel, but did not gain a testimony till I was in the Young Single Adult Ward. I spent 6 years in the Young Single Adult Ward while attending college and performing in college ensembles. My primary instrument is trumpet. My favorite calling in the Young Single Adult Ward was being the chorister. In this calling my future husband noticed my smile and we were married July 2012 for time and all eternity.I currently have 2 jobs throughout the week I teach Elementary music K-5 during the weekday and during the weeknights I teach private one on one lessons in trumpet, trombone, and piano. I am a very simple minded person.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the restoration of the priesthood. Every member that holds the priesthood has a line of authority, this line of authority can be traced back to Peter, James, and John and through them it was given from God. I also love being a Mormon because I was able to get married and sealed to my sweet husband for time and eternity. I also love being a Mormon because of how the Book of Mormon and the Bible both tell stories of Christ but on two separate hemispheres. The stories of Christ found in the New Testament are stories and teaching that happened in the Eastern hemisphere. The stories of Christ found in the Book of Mormon are stories and teaching taught to the people of the Western hemisphere after Christ's' resurrection. I also love being a Mormon because the church teaches about personal revelation. You should not just believe something to be true because someone told you it was true. You should search, ponder, and pray about it and gain your own knowledge. Nobody ever forced me to be a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I want to be. I love going to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know the people at church have the same morals as I do.

How I live my faith

At church I teach 4 and 5 year olds about the gospel. Teaching the students allows me to focus on the simple truths of the gospel and break the scriptures into simple truths. The students an I are excited for class every Sunday. We usually have a lesson, a craft and my husbands favorite time-snack time. The students are so smart they teach me more than I teach them. I inspire my students to go home and tell their family what they learned, so their families can expound the lesson learned on Sunday. I always communicate with our students parents, because I love the students at church just like they were my children, because Heavenly Father would do the same.
