Hi I'm McKenna McFarland

I'm a middle child. I'm an actress. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I moved around a lot when I as younger, mostly between California and Utah. I currently attend Brigham Young University. I love acting and being creative. I love animals and being outdoors, especially to hike, swim, camp, and go on adventures. I also like doing puzzles, reading, and listening to music. I have five siblings in my family, and I am in the middle. I love my family so much and try to spend as much time with them as I can. I love laughing! I believe a day without laughter is a day wasted.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I have been comforted many times, guided to happiness, hope, and peace, forgiven for things I have done, and changed to a better person. I often feel my Heavenly Father's love for me through the Holy Ghost. I have also been taught many principles that the Spirit tells me are true. I have seen the miracle of how coming unto Christ changes lives, in my life, the life of my family members, and in the lives of many other people I have known. The words of Christ, through the scriptures, the Holy Ghost, and the living prophets on the earth today, provide constant nourishment to my soul. Without this nourishment, I would be empty. I would be an aimless wanderer in a world of constantly changing values and philosophies. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me a sure moral foundation.

How I live my faith

I am currently the president of a part of an organization that helps take care of the needs of women around me, including their emotional, physical, and social needs. I am the spiritual leader, so I receive revelation of how to help the women in my part of the organization. I work closely with the bishop and other leaders in our ward to figure out events, activities, and service we can do to administer to these women, including things that will bring them closer to others in the organization, make them feel loved, and take care of them when they can't physically take care of themselves. Additionally, I am a visiting teacher, which means I am assigned specific people to visit and get to know and become friends with. As I get to know them, I am responsible for helping and serving them and making them feel welcome in our organization.

What is the Relief Society?

McKenna McFarland
The Relief Society is an organization made up of only women who are 18 or older. In this organization, we look after each other and help each other along the rough path of life. We have three central goals that relate to everything we do. The goals are to build faith and personal righteousness, strengthen home and families, and help those in need. Ways that we accomplish those goals include humanitarian projects, lessons on gospel topics at church, activities that bring us closer together, and events where we can learn skills or tools that will help us be better mothers, wives, neighbors, and friends.
