Hi I'm Jared Hogenson

I love math, I do calculus for fun, I appreciate greatly the study of language, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I really enjoy mathematics. In high school, I did a couple of Math contests and did pretty well in them. I think calculus is a lot of fun, and I am really interested in quantum physics and astrophysics. I want to study to become a nuclear engineer. I have taken martial arts classes and I love to swim. I have 9 brothers and 2 sisters. Three of my siblings are married and they all have children. As a result, I have 3 nieces and 4 nephews. I am a happy uncle. In the past, I have played the french horn, the trombone, and the trumpet. I love music, especially the classical pieces with an orchestra of some sort and a choir of some sort. I enjoy listening to peaceful music because it helps me to calm down when I get angry or upset.

Why I am a Mormon

I have noticed throughout my life that being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (or being a Mormon) has helped me to be happy. Having the knowledge that I do of the life of Jesus Christ and His eternal love for His children (every human on Earth) helps me to go forward in life when I think I cannot, for I know the Savior, even Jesus Christ, is right there beside me. Being a Mormon gives me strength and a goal to strive for in this life. It gives me a purpose, which purpose I would not be able to find without being a Mormon. I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father. He was our Father before this world was, and He will be our Father for the rest of time. He prepared a way for us to return to live with him after this life, but all of the blessings that He promises are based entirely on our faithfulness to Him and our righteousness. He sent Jesus Christ to atone and die for our sins. He sends prophets to guide us and to call us unto repentance. He allows us to communicate with Him through prayer. He wants us to return to Live with Him.

How I live my faith

The greatest thing that I can do to live my faith is to love others as Jesus would love them if he were where I am now. He would serve. He would give. He would teach. He would lead. He would give all of His time, and even His life, for the people that He loves. And he loves each of us. I live my religion by constantly striving to be as the Saviour taught I should be. I live my religion by doing the best that I can to give my will to my Father, for I know that His way is by far the best way.
