Hi I'm Melisa

I'm from Colombia, I love art and photography and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Colombia, I'm the oldest of 3 siblings and it's been a great opportunity to experience many responsibilities and also I’ve had the chance of knowing the blessings that you can receive of being a member of a family. I enjoy climbing, listening music, reading literature, art, photography and I work out. I Study International economic relations, I like to learn new things and I see a fascination in learning languages and trying to understand how the world works in every culture. I think that intellectual and spiritual knowledge are equally important for the development of our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I believe and I'm sure of the truth of this gospel, since I was a little girl the members of my family were members of the church so I grew up within the teachings of Jesus Chirst in my home, however at some point of my youth I had many doubts about the truth of the gospel and I started to try another things outside of what I had always know, I knew new things but in none of those paths I could feel real lasting happiness and peace to my soul, so I decided to ask directly to my Heavenly Father what should I do, what was the truth and how should I manage my life at that moment, The answer to my prayer was amazing, I found comfort in the Book of Mormon which is the word of God on earth and I had a strong feeling in my chest of the veracity of the words printed there and I knew by myself (not because my parents or any other person told me it was true, because I felt it) and by that impression that Jesus Christ is the best example of life that we have to follow if we want to find happiness.

How I live my faith

I try to follow Jesus Christ example by helping others, respecting nature and trying to understand the feelings of the people around me by knowing them as a friend and considering their views, I like to share at the church my feelings about the gospel and about the knowledge I’ve had by reading the Bible, the Book of Mormon and other books related with history and maybe science to complement the learning in classes or relate it with the secular study that we can have.
