Hi I'm Javier Celestino

I grew up in Utah. I love basically everything, know four languages, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Like I said, I love basically everything. My hobbies include photography, reading books, learning new skills, listening to a wide variety of music, and watching movies. I'm interested in basically every subject there is to learn about, which has made it hard for me to decide what I wanted to become. I'm currently studying to become a French teacher. I know English, Spanish, French, and Italian. (I learn languages for fun...) I'm a very adventurous person, and love trying out new things. I guess you can say I'm in love with life, in general. Life is beautiful!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but I haven't always a testimony of it. I was baptized at the age of 8, and I went to church every Sunday. I didn't think too much about what it meant to be a part of this church when I was younger, but once I reached my teen years, I started to think more deeply about life and why I'm doing what I'm doing. Up until then, I simply took everything at face value, but then I began having questions as to WHY I believed what I was being taught throughout my life. After major life events happened, I decided to find out for myself whether or not what I was being taught in church was real. I studied the scriptures, I prayed, and I pondered deeply about it all. I looked at things through other people's points of view to see things from different perspectives. As the years went by, I grew a stronger testimony about the gospel which we strive to live by. After some personal experiences, I now know that God really does love us all individually. We are all children of the everlasting God. He exists, and He loves us. He sent his Only Begotten Son to atone for each of us. Without this eternal sacrifice, we would have no hope for a happy future. I've gone through some dark times in my life, and without the gospel in my life, I would probably still be stuck in that darkness that once consumed my life. But because of the condescension of God, He conquered all things, and made it possible for us to conquer all things as well. I know that I will one day, with His help, return to the glory of God, and be embraced in His ever-loving arms. He has said, "I will be their God, and they shall be my people." I know that with His help I can achieve true and complete happiness. If you're having doubts or questions about the gospel, you have but to read the scriptures. As Jacob 6:12 says, "O be wise; what can I say more?" Pray about it. If done with a sincere heart, He will confirm all things. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My current position in church is a choir conductor. I was also called to serve in Chile for two years as a missionary. I live my faith by being a friend to all, and by helping all those in need. I strongly believe that living what you preach is the best way to show others what you're all about, and that's what I try to do. Whatever your background, or whatever your story, I will be a friend to you just as Jesus would. I don't believe myself to be perfect--far from it--but I do strive to be my best self in all things.
