Hi I'm Layne

I grew up in Plano, Idaho, work as an accountant at a great university. I am Mormon!

About Me

I have a wonderful wife with whom I share everything. We have five of the greatest children on earth. Four are married with wonderful spouses and we have five grand children. My life is centered on my family and I love to be with them. I grew up in a large family and have wonderful memories and hope that my children will experience the same. I enjoy most sports and playing games with my wife and children. I served a mission in Japan and hope to revisit Japan someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of what it offers me and the chance I have of repaying my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for what they have given me. I believe everything has come from them and the opportunities I have to serve in some small way is repayment. Having my family in the Gospel of Jesus Christ gives us a common goal and a way to stay close and help when we need help. I know that if something went wrong in my life I would be blessed with so much help that I wouldn't need to ask for but that would just be there. There is peace and happiness in that thought. I love the structure of the Gospel and how it can direct all to a Christ centered life with expectations of happiness and joy.

How I live my faith

My life is centered around my family. The gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fullness gives me the opportunity to build strong bonds with my family members, but also know that these bonds can last forever. I have the opportunity right now to work with young people 18 years old and up. Together we are able to learn more about our Gospel and ways to improve our lives. We are able to share many fun memorable moments in activities like talent shows, mystery dinners, game nights, and nights we can socialize and pray together. I know I can count on my family for needs but also on the other people I work with which expands my family.
