Hi I'm Josh Marchello

I'm a husband, a college student, a programmer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for a little over a year and loving every minute of it. I'm currently in college studying Web Development and Computer Science. Programming is my passion and I'm crazy about anything that has to do with technology.

Why I am a Mormon

To me, being a Mormon means being a follower of Christ. He is the greatest friend and example I could ever have. I love being Mormon because I understand my purpose in life and what I need to do to be happy. I never feel lost or confused about who I am and where I'm going, and living the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me more peace than any other thing I've ever done.

How I live my faith

My faith has always been a large part of who I am. Its more than a religion, its a way of life. I love teaching and learning the gospel, which is nice because most of the roles I've been asked to fill at church include teaching. I served as a missionary for two years in the south of Spain, there I was blessed to teach many wonderful people from all kinds of backgrounds. Now I am starting to get into genealogy work and learning about my family history.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Josh Marchello
Grace can be defined as "enabling power". We are all imperfect and we have have weaknesses. The only way we can obtain salvation is through the grace of Christ our Savior. He suffered and died so that He could open the door of Heaven to us, but we must still follow the path to those doors. God has shown us where that path is by giving us commandments. If we do our best to follow Christ and keep the commandments, His grace picks us up when we fall, helps us through the hard times, and grants us salvation. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Josh Marchello
Yes. The Bible is the word of God and it tells us of the life and ministry of our Savior Jesus Christ. It also tells us the history of the people of Israel, which can teach us so much about ourselves and how we can follow Christ better. I have been taking a class about the New Testament and it has been a very powerful experience. The more I learn about Christ and how He lived, the closer I feel to Him, and the more I want to live like Him. The Bible has helped me obtain a strong appreciation for what Christ did for me and for all of us. He lived, suffered, and died for us, and thanks to the Bible I know that. Show more Show less
