Hi I'm Randall

I grew up on a horse ranch and farm in Arizona. I am a full-time student. I am a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Northern Arizona. I was raised working side by side with my family on our farm and horse ranch. Each morning at 5:00 AM we began our workday by training horses welding panels, digging postholes, building fence, hauling hay etc. Some of my fondest memories of my early youth are those 14 - 15 hour workdays with my dad and brothers. In high school, I was student body president and quarterback for the football team. Our team won the state championship in 2007. After high school, I served as a missionary for the LDS church in Barcelona, Spain. Those two years with the Spanish people are among the best of my life. Not only did I learn the Spanish language, but I also learned to love another culture and people other than my own. I am currently a senior at Brigham Young University. I am married to an amazing Floridian ranch girl! We have a 15 month old daughter and are expecting our second this June. My wife will graduate with her degree in history this April (2014), and I will be applying to law school this fall.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many, I was born into an active Mormon family. However, I did not always know for myself that the Mormon church was true. At one point of my life I decided to leave the Mormon faith for a while. As I drifted further and further away from the church, I drifted further and further away from happiness. Finally, I arrived at an all-time low. I realized how little purpose I felt in my life and how lost I had become. I decided to return to the Mormon faith. It was upon returning to the church that I began to develop my own testimony. After a personal attempt to determine whether or not the church was true, I came to know for myself. I am a Mormon because I know the Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I am a Mormon because I know that God wants us to be happy. I know that the world is a dangerous place full of temptation and sin, but that God will guide us safely through it if we listen to his voice through the tools that He has left for us on earth. The scriptures (the Bible and the Book of Mormon) along with the words of living prophets act as guidelines that steer us to happiness and safety in a world of conflict and turmoil. I am a Mormon because I know that through Christ my family and I can live together forever. I know that everything I love will last beyond this mortal life if I keep the commandments and serve others.

How I live my faith

I currently am serving as a counselor in my community. Basically, I look for opportunities to serve those who are in need. Individuals who are struggling financially, physically, or spiritually can receive assistance from other members of the community. My calling is to make sure that each person in the community feels welcome and to make sure that no one is going without the proper temporal, physical, and spiritual care that they need.
