Hi I'm Jason Hurst

I'm an idaho farm boy, Im a student at Brigham Young University Idaho and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a dairy farm learning the value of hard work by milking cows and hauling hay. I have three older sisters and two brothers that i love and have learned to get along with. I've always had a love for the outdoor especially the mountains. I'm also creative crafting projects with wood, leather and anything else that catches my imagination. I'm currently a student at university going for mechanical engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am i a Mormon. Well, I was born within the church to good parents who raised me in the gospel teaching me of my relationship to Jesus Christ. They have raised me to have good morals and to choose the right by helping others and doing the things that Jesus Christ would have me do. I'm not perfect but I do try to follow in his footsteps. Growing up in the gospel i never really questioned that my parents knew that it was true and i accepted that but the time came that i pondered in my heart of the truth of what i had been taught. It troubled my heart a little cause i did not know for myself if what my parents and what i grew up with was true or not. I've pondering these things for quite a while thinking back on my life and my experiences within the gospel. Upon one such time pondering deep in thought i found in my heart that i knew god existed and that he loves his children and interacts with them. I also knew the Book of Mormon and the Bible to be the word of god. I knew that Joseph Smith had to be a prophet of god because i knew this had to be christ church upon the earth today lead by a prophet of god. I came to realize that i knew what my parents have taught me are true and am grateful to my ancestor who joined the church and gave me the blessing of growing up in the gospel. After coming to this realization i felt a burning in my chest and knew it was the spirit confirming to me this truth. I just knew in my heart.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday by tying to be more like my savior Jesus Christ, though i am far from perfect i strive each day to be more like him by trying to serve those around me. I strive to be a good example to others around me and encourage them to choose the right. Though compared to the savior i feel inadequate but i know that i can influence those around me with love and can invite them to come unto the savior.
