Hi I'm Dylan Mattern

I like to play lots of sports and spend time with my family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to play lots of sports, but my favorite sports are basketball, swimming, and racquetball. On the weekends I enjoy getting together with my friends to have video game wars. We can go for hours. My family and I love to go camping and motorcycle riding. I am the oldest child of four crazy kids. I am in middle school and love it a lot. My grades are very important to me and I work hard to get straight A's. I am the Vice President at my school. As part of the student council I get to help plan all the fun activity days and be part of making our school a better place.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, so I have lived the gospel my whole life. I have continued to follow the church because I know it is true and I know how much the gospel blesses my life if I continue to follow it. It is such a great blessing to have all the members of the church around you and supporting you all the time. It's amazing to learn about the gospel and hear what people went through to teach the gospel and keep it going, especially the fact that Jesus died on the cross to save us and give us the opportunity to repent of our sins and start fresh. Its an amazing privilege to go inside the temple which is the lords house and give people that have pasted away the chance to be a member of the church. In the temple the spirit is so strong in your hearts and so comforting no one could ever explain it. I know that if someone new joined the church they would be accepted and live a much better life with the gospel. I believe all of these things very strongly and know that they are true.

How I live my faith

I love to do service in my community. Where I live there are many trees, so we have lots of wood projects that I enjoy doing with my friends in the ward. We all get together on a Saturday with our fathers and split and load fire wood for those who need it to warm their houses. I have a list of a couple people in our ward that my father and I try to go visit with every month. With the youth of the church we all share, live and teach the each other the gospel. We try to set up all the events or activities we can. Sometimes we go on little hikes, play silly games, play utilmate frisbee in the dark, or go on huge hikes like the fifty miler. Every Wednesday we have scouts to meet up with each other but every couple of Wednesdays we have mutual. Mutual is when all the boys and girls get together to have fun with a spiritual purpose.
