Hi I'm Lori

I grew up in Olympia, Washington. I am a mother of five. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the humanities, but was an anthropology/botany major and graduated from Brigham Young University. I served a mission in Lansing, Michigan. I have 5 children, one with special needs.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I took the challenge to read the Book of Mormon at the young age of fourteen. My mother was raised Catholic so I was very familiar with the wonderful lessons of the Bible and knew it was true. A good friend invited me to also read the Book of Mormon and find out if it was true. After reading, I felt the need to pray, even though I was already filled with happiness and gratitude for God. I received an answer to my prayer that the Book of Mormon was true. It is a companion testimony to the Bible about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is through the scriptures that I continually find answers to everyday life challenges and questions.

How I live my faith

I love being a full time mother and feel it's a privilege to be the primary influence in my children's life. Let's face it, being a mother keeps you young at heart! When asked if I work out, I tell people I have 5 personal trainers! I also teach Sunday school for the children three to eleven years old in our congregation. For our elementary school PTA I create flyers and posters for events! Posters for Reading across America with the Cat in the Hat is my favorite to paint- Dr. Seuss is great art and literature all in one!
