Hi I'm Nick

I grew up in Seattle, Washington. I'm a father, husband, and Army physician. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Texas, but grew up in the great Northwest. I served a Mormon in mission in Denmark and studied at Brigham Young University, where I met my incredible wife. She is Guatemalan. I went to medical school in Kirksville, MO, and I'm now in my first year of residency in San Antonio...Texas (back to where I started).

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. As far back as I can remember, it has always just made sense to me. I remember deciding to pray to know if The Book of Mormon is true when I was a teenager. After multiple attempts to pray, I didn't have that overwhelming spiritual experience I was expecting. Instead, one night, the thought occurred to me, I already know it's true, so why I am asking to know if it's true. I know that God lives and that Jesus Christ is His Only Begotten Son. I know that they called prophets in ancient times, and I know they called Joseph Smith to be a prophet who restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This knowledge has been the greatest source of happiness for me throughout my life.

How I live my faith

Currently, my wife and I have an assignment to teach the Sunday school class for the Spanish speakers. My wife does most of the teaching while I tend to our baby daughter. I also help translate the main church service into Spanish. I also have several families from the congregation who I visit monthly (most months) with my assigned partner. We are new to our community so our involvement at Church has made us feel welcome and given us the chance to jump into service opportunities.
