Hi I'm Ron

I grew up in Idaho. I served a mission. I'm a geophysicist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father with four children. I enjoy gardening, probably because of my roots on a farm. I currently work in the oil industry as a geophysicist which has provided me the opportunity to travel and work in other countries. I also enjoy reading good books. One of my passions is having quiet time so I can think and ponder.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that in our hearts, people are looking for peace and happiness. Life can be challenging. I have found that by following the teachings of Jesus Christ, I am better able to deal with life's challenges. My testimony helps me to maintain an optimistic perspective on life. As I read the scriptures and ponder the words of the prophets, occasionally I get insights into their trials and how they coped with them. I feel blessed that they spent the time and energy to write about the lessons they learned from their experiences. These are the things my testimony is based on; love for the Savior, the understanding that help is always available and the blessing of perspective.

How I live my faith

I have been able to participate in a wide range of activities in the Church. I have taught young boys ages 8-11 and have been blessed to get to know a number of young people ages 12-18. Now I am working with this same group of young people, but they are now age 19 and older. One of the passions that drives me is seeing these young people achieve success. I also have the opportunity to visit people who are struggling with their relationship with their Savior. What a blessing it is when these people figure it out and see the richness of life that can be theirs as they embrace the teachings of the Savior!
