Hi I'm Linda

I'm a homemaker, wife and joyful mother of nine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for over 22 years and am still in love with my husband. We have nine children-from a toddler at home to college students and missionaries. I would characterize myself as a dabbler, a sort of jack-of-all trades, master of none in the world of "hobbies and interests." I enjoy learning. I studied English in college and love to read just about everything - fluff, mysteries, fantasy, classics, self-help, with a budding interest in history and philosophy. I enjoy many needle arts including knitting, crochet, embroidery, quilting, tatting and the list goes on. I have also done some quilling, metal embossing, stained glass, and oil painting. I study piano and guitar. Okay, so this may explain why I find home organization, upkeep, punctuality and the dreaded "diet and exercise" ongoing challenges.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I believe that I am a daughter of Heavenly Father. He loves all of us and desires that all may have the opportunity to return to Him. The restoration of His gospel and authority is an integral part of that love because it is necessary to enable that return. Joseph Smith was called to begin that process and the subsequent prophets down to Thomas S. Monson today have carried that process forth. The Book of Mormon is a testament of Jesus Christ. I love the gospel and this church. Everything I have been directed or encouraged to do in this church has been to the purpose of finding His joy and peace in my life and trying to share that with others. One of my favorite tenants of this church is that any truth, no matter where I learned of it or to what subject matter it pertains, it is part of the gospel, which opens the entire world to my view. I have been richly blessed in this life and every blessing I owe to that God who gave me life.

How I live my faith

I have always been active in church. I have served in a variety of capacities. I have taught classes in all age groups, as well as leadership roles. I currently work with the youth organization, specifically with young women 12-18 years old. I have enjoyed all the areas that I have worked in. My greatest friendships have come from those I have worked with to serve others. I also love visiting teaching. I have developed many friendships with women I might not have otherwise known because we were assigned to either work together or serve another sister. I think the greatest contribution I have made to the community is the service I have rendered in my own home. My children are positively recognized in their schools and community activities.
