Hi I'm Elder and Sister Patrick

We are a Senior Missionary Couple serving in the Whitehorse Yukon Branch which is part of the Anchorage Alaska Mission.

About Me

I live on a acreage at Wizard Lake and enjoy the outdoors. We love to boat, fish, quad and play with our many grandchildren. There is nothing better than sitting around a campfire singing songs or enjoying some great stories.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is that the doctrine of the church is so compelling. It teaches about the Saviour Jesus Christ, that He was Jehovah of the Old Testament, came to mortality in the New Testament and also visited the people of the Book of Mormon Lands. Membership in the church has brought meaning to my life, a wonderful family, with awesome friends and a hope of an eternal life with a kind and loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I have been a boy scout leader for many years, in fact 38 years and enjoy taking the young lads out camping, hiking, fishing and learning about how to survive in Northern Canada. We have been camping at minus 30 degrees for our winter camps and make snow shelters called quinsies.

Are Mormons Christians?

Elder and Sister Patrick
You should listen to our Mormon Tabernacle Choir or come to church and listen to our hymns. We sing about Jesus, we talk about Jesus, we love Jesus and this is His Church. Besides that ... we are nice to people, which is what Jesus taught. We should love one another. When you love Jesus its very easy to love everyone else. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Elder and Sister Patrick
We are so happy and blessed to serve a senior couple mission. It is our opportunity to share the many blessings we have received throughout our abundant lives as members of the Church. We anticipate strengthening our marriage relationship, forming new friendships, and deepening our love and testimony of the Saviour Jesus Christ. As a missionaries we will follow a schedule of prayer, scripture study, service, and teaching the gospel in home visits. We will enjoy the association of the young missionaries and the direction of a wonderful mission president. As missionaries we will be the recipients of the many prayers offered to our Heavenly Father by our grandchildren and the body of the church. We have been called by President Thomas S. Monson, a living prophet and will share the message of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. In our preparation for missionary service we have experienced a multitude of miracles. With so many things to do prior to serving we have been given so much assistance from unseen hands which has confirmed our faith so many times. Much of the world uses drugs, addictive behaviours and to modify or "to feel good". We declare that the experience of missionary work fills our hearts, mind and soul with wonderful feelings of happiness. In fact, one of the names of the Gospel Message is the Great Plan of Happiness. We have been on cruises, travelled to Egypt, China, Africa, Hawaii and Europe but nothing comes close to missionary work. Show more Show less
