Hi I'm Kayleigh Ingersoll

I'm going from Idaho to Indonesia on a mission. I am studying microbiology at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student studying microbiology. I am interested in doing medical research on infectious diseases. I have always been interested in space exploration and I like to follow what's going on with NASA and the International Space Station. I play volleyball, basketball, and tennis, and ran one season of cross country my senior year of high school. This lead to my joining a triathlon club in college, and I completed my first Olympic length triathlon. I have played piano since I was 4 and I played percussion in band. I love serving others and have enjoyed volunteering at an interactive science museum, assisted living home, English learning language center with refugees, and many other places. I am currently serving in the Indonesia, Jakarta mission. I am loving this new adventure in my life, and I love helping others come unto Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ gives me direction. It tells me where I am from, why I am here, and where I am going. It also shows me how I can get there by teaching me the steps I must take. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I know it is only through Him that I can return to heaven and become the person He knows I can be. I want to live in a way that I can one day feel worthy to be in His and my Heavenly Father's presence.

How I live my faith

I was on a youth council that presided over the 12-18 year old's where I lived- over 400 youth. I got to plan youth camps, teach lessons, and give talks. I had to prayerfully consider the challenges my peers were facing, and what I could say to help and encourage them. I also got to be a compassionate service assistant in our women's organization where I helped those who were sick or needed help. I live my faith by following the example of Christ. I try to love and serve all those around me regardless of our differences in religion or opinion.
