Hi I'm Kenzie

I love reading, writing and being creative. I just moved to Utah from Texas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 14 years old. I just moved to Utah after living in Texas for 10 years. I love reading and writing and I want to be an author or an artist some day. I play the piano and violin as well. I will never be too old Disney. I like crafting, shopping, sewing, thinking about crazy things, and writing stories.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I have felt the Spirit testify truth to me. Growing up in the gospel, it's hard to realize what you have. Most kids that grow up in the church can live off of their parent's belief, but I am growing my belief and I feel much stronger spiritually on my own legs. Although I am still growing my testimony, I do have a strong belief in prayer and the Holy Spirit. Since I was baptized at eight years old, I have been blessed with the Spirit that teaches me truth or protects me from harm and making terrible mistakes. I also have a strong testimony of prayer. Sometimes, there might be something that might seem small and worthless that you want to have spiritual help for, like a test or giving you strength to talk to a certain person. I have thought this myself once, but I've heard a quote from a man that is very spiritual in the Mormon gospel. It goes something like this, "No prayer is too small for your Father in Heaven. Whatever is important to you is important to your Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ." I am aware that I'm not perfect, so when I make a mistake I try to make it up as much as possible, then pray to my Heavenly Father for forgiveness. I am also aware that nobody else is perfect, and so I am learning to be forgiving and merciful like Jesus Christ. I believe that books are very fun and exciting to have, but also can be dangerous. I am very careful about the books I read because I want to read fun, romantic books (and other genres) that make me think and smile or cry along with the characters. That's why I want to become an author and write music so I can help kids in the future trust me and find my music and books as a refuge from these other inappropriate things.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my everyday life. I dress modestly, don't swear, and try to be kind to everyone. I am very picky about the music that I listen to that it doesn't swear or imply bad things. It is my own decision to be picky about my music because I believe music has a powerful impact on how your emotions are and how you act. I am picked to be one of the girls that helps choose good ways to teach the other girls and help choose fun activities to do every Wednesday. As a church youth group, we try to do a service project almost every month.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Kenzie
Our bodies are called "Temples of God" because we are his greatest creation. We are meant to stay healthy and pure from bad habits, tattoos, smoking and high drinks such as alcohol or beer. When we keep our bodies pure and clean, we are thanking him for giving us this wonderful life that we have. Our body was created to serve certain purposes on this earth. Our body is also just a temporal place for our immortal spirit to stay while on this earth. You can shine the light of Christ better without marks on your skin or strange liquids in your systems or smoke eroding away your healthiness. Show more Show less
