Hi I'm Nikki Lee

I'm an adventurer. I'm a freerunner. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I've spent most of my life in the desert paradise know as st George Utah. It's a few miles away from the famous Zion's national park. I feel like growing up with so much nature to explore is what really contributed to my adventurous spirit. I have a family of 5 people and I am the oldest of three brothers. My family is far from typical, but our love for God and each other unite us in tight bonds. I'm all about adventure. I love exploring the out doors, going camping, backpacking, rock climbing, scuba diving, skydiving, cliff jumping, martial arts, parkour, slack lining, and Kendama. I enjoy making music. I have a passion for learning. I believe that we can accomplish anything through will power. I believe that to have a kind and gentle heart is the greatest quality a person can have.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember being taught as a small child by my Grandpa that there was a God and that he knew and loved me. He taught me that I could speak to him through prayer. I remember the powerful feelings of warmth and love as I prayed to Him in my simple childish way. Although I spent a great deal of my childhood not going to church regularly, I always felt that closeness with God. That relationship helped me through a lot of hard times. Because my parents were divorced when I was young, I faced a lot of emotional stress, but I always found peace as I turned to my Father in Heaven. I saw how God's teachings where able to heal my broken family. During my teenage years, my belief in God kept me from making a lot of mistakes that those around me were making. It often felt lonely to not be apart of the group, but I knew that Heavenly Father was proud of me for making the right choices. My connection with God, and the effect I have seen his teachings have on my life and my family's lives is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

At church we learn about principles that Jesus Christ taught such as love, forgiveness, humility, service, and repentance. One thing that I am thankful for is that at church we are also given opportunities to apply those principles. The way that the church does that is through giving responsibilities to all its members. We all work as volunteers to help and serve each other as well as others in the community and world. I feel like I've been able to grow a lot through responsibilities that I have received. One of the responsibilities that I had was to teach a children's class about the scriptures. I felt my love grow as I studied each week what I could teach the children that could help them to have happy lives. I was always impressed by how pure and full of love the children were. I feel like I was able to understand better what Jesus Christ meant when he said, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the Kingdom of God."
