Hi I'm Haille

I'm 20 years old. I'm studying to become a nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 11 children, and I love my family. I absolutely love learning about anything and everything in this beautiful world, and beyond. I am attending college and will finally graduate from nursing school in December of 2014! I love yoga, exercising, and healthy living. I love to cook, especially with exotic ethnic foods and spices. Reading is one of my favourite things to do. I love beautiful music. When I have time (which is almost never) I play the piano, harmonica, violin and ukulele. I am almost always singing, whether I am aware of it or not. I love cameras and photography. I love the sky, stars and sunsets. Oftentimes I will spend hours poring over the images on Hubblesite.org, learning about the universe. I love flowers and plants. The dictionaries in my room often have pressed flowers between their pages, and the old bottles in the windowsill carry desert wildflowers. "All things bright and beautiful" bring me so much joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know it is true. I know that I am a daughter of God and I know that He loves me and wants me to return to live with Him again. I have felt wrapped up in the arms of His eternal love, which is the most beautiful, peaceful feeling in the world. I know that families are eternal, and they can be together forever because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that Christ gave His life for me and you, and that He lives! I know that God speaks today, and that He loves all of His children. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet upon the earth today. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, that He really did see God the Father and Jesus Christ, that he translated the Book of Mormon, and gave his life to help restore Christ's church to the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and was divinely inspired. It has answered my questions, clarified gospel truths, and helped bring peace and happiness into my life. I have chosen to be a member of this church because I love my Saviour. His gospel makes sense. I have felt the influence of the Holy Spirit many times, confirming truths to me, comforting me, and teaching me. It is a feeling unlike any other. Jesus Christ lives and loves us. He has restored His church to the earth. All He asks is that we follow Him by keeping His commandments--offering up our hearts and our minds to serve Him. I know that His plan is a plan of happiness. As I continue to have faith in Jesus Christ, repent, keep my baptismal and temple covenants, strive to love and serve God and my fellow men, and endure to the end, I can be forgiven and made clean. I can be perfected through Christ, and return to live with my Heavenly Father and my family. I know this is true. This is what gives purpose and meaning to my life. I know that life does not end at death, but that there is a glorious future ahead of us, if we will but follow Christ.

How I live my faith

In my singles branch I am the pianist for the women's group, as well as one of the gospel doctrine teachers. Being able to play the piano has blessed me with the opportunity to share my talent, while also motivating me to continue to develop my musical abilities. Teaching gospel doctrine is definitely one of the best callings I have been asked to do. It has taught me so much. I have learned the stories and principles of the gospel in greater detail from my preparations. I have learned to listen to spiritual promptings about what to say and how to say it. I have learned how to listen to the class. This calling has really helped me to grow closer to my Heavenly Father--to say the things He would want me to say, and to do the things He would have me do. I still have a long way to go on my road to discipleship, but day by day and little by little, I am becoming better. He is helping to refine me. I am not perfect in any way, but I live my faith by trying to remember my Saviour every day. I pray, study the scriptures (the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price), look for opportunities to give service, attend my church meetings on Sunday, attend institute (a weekly scripture study class), keep the commandments, and keep my covenants. Many times I fall and fail. But every day I keep trying to improve!
