Hi I'm Lauren Fardos

College Student. Running Enthusiast. Food appreciator. Aficionado of Smiling. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love anything sports or water related. If it is warm out you can find me on the lake wake boarding or out on the trails running until my hearts content. When it's cold out, you will find me in denial and still trying to do my favorite summer things, but this time I will have a thermos of hot chocolate with me. I love being outside, having fun, spending time with my family, and trying new things!

Why I am a Mormon

I was not born into an all member family. My Mom was raised LDS and my Dad was raised Catholic. And through raising 3 children my parents felt that it was more important to develop a Christ centered home and to encourage me and my siblings to develop our own personal relationship with Christ than to make us all pick a specific religion. By the time I was in 5th grade I had visited many different churches but always found myself coming back to the LDS church. I knew that it was true and that it was where I needed to be. Over those next few years, my dad began to develop a stronger and stronger interest in the Church. Eventually to the point where he was baptized. He was then able to baptize me and my siblings. And then I was able to be sealed to my family for all of time and eternity. It was easily the happiest day of my life. I saw my dad go through a true change of heart. He has always been a good man, one who has a great work ethic and loves his family. But in joining the church, I saw his whole countenance change... There aren't even words to describe it. Not only that, but I saw my family life change. All for the better. Our home was filled with more love than I thought was possible and we now shared something that was so precious, that being this gospel and the happiness it brings us. What a blessing these experiences have been to me throughout my life. I am a Mormon because I have personally seen how the gospel blesses families. I have seen the gospel change people lives for the better. I have witnessed for myself that this Gospel is built off of a foundation of love. I have visited other churches, I have talked to others about many different types of religions, and while all of these other churches are good in their own ways... There was a wholeness, a completeness, a love which I felt through attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints which I have found no where else. My name is Lauren Fardos. I am a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. I love service from the small things like delivering anonymous "thank you" letters and giving hugs to the bigger things like helping with projects or lending a listening ear... I love it all. I live my faith by striving to be an example of what this gospel is and what it really stands for. I live my faith through being consistent. I live my faith through praying to my Heavenly Father and reading the words of the scriptures. I live my faith by going to church. I live my faith by striving to become more like my Father in Heaven everyday. It is a continual and conscious effort that I have to make to live my faith, but I chose to do it because I love this gospel and I love my Heavenly Father and because I know that this church is true... with all of my heart!
