Hi I'm Irene

I am a wife, a mother of 3, and a grandmother of 7. I grew up in SLC and been in the South for 30 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy quilting. It's fun to see the beautiful things you can create out of simple cotton fabrics. I have also been doing all kinds of handcrafts for more than 30 years. I like to take a daily walk and enjoy the beauties of nature. I don't enjoy cooking, but love to eat! I enjoy baking bread, and have managed to win First Place at the Fair for 12 years in a row. I like to organize things...anything; from the kitchen cabinets to the boxes in the attic. I like to paint walls and change the home decor to brighten up or refresh the look of my environment. I've been a secretary for more than 30 years and love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I enjoy the fellowship that comes from being a member of this Church. I enjoy the blessings that come from living the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have a firm testimony that Jesus is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that he atoned for me and that he loves me. I feel his love in the many blessings that I have received from day to day. I know that God hears and answers our heartfelt prayers. He is mindful of our needs and loves us unconditionally. I know it is our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ that desire our obedience because they know it leads to happiness and ultimately back to live with them. And you know what?...it doesn't get any better than that! To live with God, the Father and Jesus Christ is my humble goal. I hope it's yours also.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day of my life. It's simply who I am. I have been active in my Church my entire life. I've had the opportunity to teach the children from ages 6 up to 12 years old. I love their enthusiasm for hearing about Jesus and learning how to follow his example. I've worked with the women's organization in putting on special conferences that fulfill the need for spiritual lifting; and then doing conferences for learning new crafts, cooking ideas, and home improvements.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

I actually have been asked this question several times. We do not worship Joseph Smith or any other man. We worship God our Eternal Father and Jesus Christ. We have great respect and reverence for Joseph Smith and his mission in this life. There is always much talk about Joseph Smith because he was the instrument that God used in restoring his Church to the earth in the latter days. It took great courage amid much persecution to fulfill his mission. I know that he was the prophet of the restoration and have great love and respect for him. Show more Show less
