Hi I'm Sherrie

I' m a wife. I'm a mother. I'm a teacher. I'm a geographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, but have lived the past 33 years in Florida. I have four wonderful children and four precious grandchildren. I taught high school students a scripture study class (Seminary) before their regular high school program for 18 years. I love teaching, I love studying the scriptures and I love working with young people. I'm a geographer and I'm fascinated with different people (their cultures) and the varied physical environments in which they live.. I really enjoy cooking and baking, especially cookies, breads and desserts.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and strive each day to be one of Christ's obedient and faithful disciples. It is truly a privilege to walk the strait and narrow path that will lead me back to my Heavenly Father and his Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. I enjoy reading and pondering on the many titles used in the scriptures to describe Christ's mission and his relationship to each of Heavenly Father's children. One of my favorites is "The Light of The World." Jesus' light shines brightly to give me direction in this troubled and confusing world. His light shines bright and gives me hope and comfort. His light makes me feel safe and happy Through His light, I feel peace.

How I live my faith

It is a privilege to serve God's children. I really enjoy being a visiting teacher and visiting and serving the special "sisters" I have stewardship over each month. I serve at church as a Sunday School teacher and I also serve in the Orlando Temple. I enjoy serving in the community, especially in the schools and have taught special classes as a volunteer for many years. Since I love to cook, whenever someone I know needs something warm and tasty, I'm quick to render additional service in that way.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Sherrie
I believe that all of the talents and abilities I have been blessed with come from the Lord. Through the use and development of these talents and abilities, I have been blessed to earn money. It's, therefore, a blessing to repay the Lord in some small way. These sacred funds are spent very carefully by our leaders to help in furthering the work of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Show more Show less
