Hi I'm Doug Liening

I grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and now live in Chattanooga, TN. I am a physician and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a doctor, an ENT surgeon. I am a husband and father and like to work in Family History. I have served as a Bishop in our local ward, and love the Church-it means everything to me. I read a lot and finish about one book per week.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I have seen the power of the priesthood in action and I know that the Gifts of the Spirit are with His Church today. The Holy Ghost can be our constant companion if we live according to our privileges.

How I live my faith

I try to be honest and hard-working, and to do all that I can for my patients and family. I study the scriptures often and love the Book of Mormon. I hope to serve another mission for the Church when I reach retirement.

What is faith?

Doug Liening
I believe that faith is a principle of action, whereby we demonstrate our strong belief in the Almighty by declaring our testimony, good works, living uprightly, and building His Church. It is through the doorway of faith that we reach out to our Redeemer, thereby receiving his companionship and assistance. Faith must include a declaration of our commitment to Jesus Christ and a public commitment to strive to be like him. Show more Show less
