Hi I'm Emily Guinn

I love my family, I love theater, I am a missionary at the Historic Kirtland Visitors' Center in the Ohio Cleveland Mission.

About Me

I am the oldest of four children, I have completed my first year at BYU-Idaho, I am studying Marriage and Family Studies; I would like to go into working with the elderly. I am serving a mission in Ohio, and the Historic Kirtland Visitor's Center :) I was raised in the church and I have come to know for myself that the church is true. I love serving the people in Ohio, and helping them see the happiness and joy that this gospel has brought into my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my entire life. But over the past few years I have gained my own testimony of the restored gospel which has helped me to decide for myself why I am and want to be a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I love the gospel principles that are taught. I am so happy to be a member of this wonderful church. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and restored the Gospel to the earth so that we can learn and grow in the gospel everyday. I know that the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ and helps me to understand Jesus Christ and His Atonement so that I have the blessing to repent of things that I do wrong and that I can be forgiven and start new again :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by example and standards. I have been fortunate enough to have had such great examples in my life. I believe that examples help me to be a better person. I also try to take what I have learned from other people and their examples, and apply them to my life, so I can hopefully be an example to others. Standards are another part of my life that I try to live by. Modesty is a standard that has given me so many experiences that have strengthened my faith, and through this I am able to dress modesty without having to decide between what is modest and what is not. This is just one of many standards that I choose to live everyday, as an outward expression of my faith and love of my Father in Heaven.
