Hi I'm Scott

I am a divorced father of one and a Pool Manager. I love my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

As a convert who had a difficult time finding my place in the Church, it was easy for me to fall away. I returned a few years later for a while - long enough to go to the Temple, receive my endowments, and get sealed to my wife and daughter. I was back long enough to baptize my daughter - something that will stay with me for all time. However - I fell away again. Several years later, when I moved into my current home, most of my co-workers asked about my new commute and home. One young lady (16 years old) asked a more important question. What ward (what specific congregation) was I in? She kept asking me about studying scriptures and about church attendance and bore her testimony to me. She then sent missionaries to visit (with my permission). Returning to Church has been a tremendous blessing. I have seen the law of tithing work in my life, I have seen the results of prayers and of scripture study. I enjoy the blessings of the Sacrament and live my life following the commandments of the Lord and I am blessed! I have now received a Temple Recommend and plan to go often. I have been going to the Temple grounds weekly for a while to prepare myself for that routine. I am a father first. I teach swim lessons, I am a lifeguard, I am a pool manager. I love my church resposibilites and I strive to live according to the will of God in all things and at all times. I have not been this happy in many years. I have found a ward that I love, and who love me.

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon makes me "more me." There is such great joy in being a part of the Gospel. There is joy in the friendships gained and in the experiences shared. There is joy in following the articles of faith and striving to make the world a better place. There is joy is striving to build a home of love and a sanctuary of peace. There is joy in being a part of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My 4 minutes are more than half over. I am Mormon, so that I can make the best of the time I have left and help those whose time is up to have a better existence with Heavenly Father and His Son. I am a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is true, that we have living prophets here on earth and Jesus Christ has blessed this Church with His own hand.

How I live my faith

I suppose most of what I wrote in the previous section belongs here. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I wake up in the morning, that is the first thing I turn to. I turn to the Scriptures and read for a while. There are many lessons to be learned and each of us will learn them differently. Daily prayer - not just before bed or just in the morning - but all day long has become routine. Talking to Heavenly Father and listening to what He has to say to me is very important. He will not make my decisions for me, but He will guide me and help me to know which is the best one. I love the missionaries. Not just the ones serving in my ward, but the ones all around. It has brought me great joy to get to know several of them. Doing service with the missionaries (or even without them) is a tremendous blessing. I have prepared for returning to the Temple, and I go weekly. This sacred building is an amazing location. Sitting on the Temple grounds and going to the Visitors' Center is a a wonderful way to spend some down time. This down time becomes real inspirational. I just love to sit and ponder and listen to the wind as it brings Heavenly Father's instructions to my ears. I live my faith by going to the Temple to perform ordinances for my ancestors. What a great way to connect with those who helped me to exist! I live my faith by attending Sacrament and other meetings. I have given talks and born my testimony. I have helped to set up for events and for classes. I have enjoyed my calling and serve with all the joy in my heart. I live my faith by being honest with everyone at all times in all my dealings. I live my faith by obeying the commandments and the word of wisdom. I live my faith by proclaiming to all the world, "I am a son of Heavenly Father and I love Him and He loves me!" And I live my life in a way that should please my Father. I live my Faith by striving to be an example and to bring light to the world daily.
