Hi I'm Katie

I'm your average person. I love to be happy. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hello there! My name is Sister Katie Schwartz and I am a Mormon. I am currently serving as a full-time missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am dedicating 18 months of my life to serve the Lord, because I strongly desire for people to feel of God's love, and want them to feel the same comfort and hope I feel through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that God lives and love us infinitely-each as an individual. I grew up as a Latter-day Saint in the beautiful state of Washington. I am the third out of four children, born of goodly parents. I know I'm not the first to say that I love music, being outside, adventuring, driving in the pouring rain, watching a good movie, and eating pasta. I'm not that different from other people. And that's okay! I love who I am and I am grateful for this beautiful life God has blessed me with. I am happy, and it is because of the gospel of Jesus Christ that I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love to be happy. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings nothing but happiness. Yes I will admit that there are times when I feel like what has been asked of me is too hard to do and I just want to give up, but it is Christ that always lifts me back up. I love that I can always count on Him to be there for me, even when I doubt what I know to be true. I am a Mormon because I believe in being happy. I believe that there is more to this life that the routine of every day. I believe that there is a God, and I know that He wants us to be happy. Because of this, He has prepared a way for us to be happy. Our Heavenly Father sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to atone and suffer for our sins, so that we may be happy and live with Him again. Christ did not have to do this, but since He loves us, and He knew the importance of God's plan, He paid the ultimate price of sacrifice. He knows our every pain and emotion. From a paper-cut to death. From a "I love you" to a break-up. Christ knows it all, and is willing to forgive us of our sins so that we may return to live with our Heavenly Father again. God lives. I know He does. He has a prepared a way for us to be happy. It is up to us to utilize and take advantage of His beautiful plan of happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by taking it one day at a time. I have learned that I can focus on today. I can do what Heavenly Father asks of me today. Life doesn't seem so hard that way. I love that God gives us commandments. It is comforting to know that I know what I need to do to live with Him again, for I know that living with Him means never-ending happiness. What can be better than being happy for all eternity? What God asks us today will be worth it in the end. That is a guarantee. I also live my faith by knowing that God WILL. The word "will" is found countless times in the scriptures and is said over the pulpit by called leaders of the church. God WILL bless us. He WILL follow through with His promises. He WILL ensure our happiness. He WILL put us through trials, but only with the intent for us to grow, learn, and progress. He loves us with a personal, literal, never-ending love. How grateful I am to know that God loves me and wants whats best for me, and that He is willing to (and does) put up with my weaknesses. I love Him.
