Hi I'm Madison

I grew up in Caldwell, Idaho. I go to school at BYU-Idaho. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with 4 other sisters. I grew up in a small town in Idaho where everybody knew everyone and I loved it! I grew up playing volleyball, soccer, basketball, track, and was involved within Mayor's Youth Council, band, choir, and other opportunities to be involved with the community. I'm currently studying Health Science with a Minor in Medical Assisting. I always knew that I was going to be in the Medical field and have always loved working hands on with people; in high school I was a registered EMT basic and knew from there that I was meant to work with people to help them feel better physically and spiritually.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I'm a Mormon because it makes me feel like a good person. I feel like I know what I'm doing is right and is beneficial to those around me, which is my ultimate goal. I love feeling as though I'm doing not only what makes me feel good, but what God would want me to be doing as well. I try every day to be a little bit better and try to help others, and that's all I can do. It's little by little every day. And it's truly a blessing to be part of such an organization that makes you feel as though you belong to something bigger and better than you are.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing every day acts for others. I work for the school's intramural program here at BYU-Idaho and uphold others to a higher standard of conduct. We're encouraged to live in a Christ-like manner always and we want others to learn not only how to control tempers and things that we naturally do, but we want them to have a good time recreationally too. Therefore I set an examples to others by being patient, willing to listen, and teachings others to be Christ-like.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Madison
We're given the gift of creating life. We tend to undermine this ability in the world now, but if you think about it, it's pretty incredible! We as women have been entrusted to do only what God is able to do; create life. And since we have this sacred responsibility of life we should see the beauty of it and realize that there's a lot more to it than it seems. Therefore men are given the power of priesthood in order to give them responsibility and power equivalent to women's divine power. This isn't to say one gender is better than another, but we're given separate responsibilities and it's ok. I love being a woman! I love relying on men to uphold their priesthood and help me when I'm in need because I know that they have qualities that I don't have and we can help each other. I love it! We work together to bring a greater future for me and my family. Show more Show less
