Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a single mom to 3 wonderful boys. I love the Church very much.

About Me

I'm a single mom to 3 wonderful boys (Sebastian, Carson and Jeffrey). I am a convert to the Church. I was baptized in October of 2010. I've been working as a paralegal since May of 2012. I enjoy reading my Scriptures, going to Church activities, playing with my kids, cooking, playing piano (at least trying to), etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a United Methodist. I first started attending Church functions when a friend invited me to attend a Bible study class (referred to as Institute). I must admit that I was hesitant at first. After the missionaries began to teach me I took to heart their challenge to pray about what I was hearing, seeing, etc. I did and gained a testimony that the Church is very true. The Book of Mormon is inspired. It was completely amazing to me to learn and come to treasure that there is a Prophet on the Earth. Thomas S. Monson is an individual called of God. My faith is not without its tests. I have come to very much appreciate the power of prayer.

How I live my faith

I don't have any callings yet but I very much appreciate especially the women of the Church who are wonderful teachers both to me and my boys. I do my very best to honor my commitment to read my Scriptures every day.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Rachel
A "testimony" is received through the power of the Holy Ghost. At the center of that testimony is the belief if Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and of course the Holy Ghost. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ both live and love all of us very much. Jesus Christ died for our sins and we are able to return to our Heavenly Father's presence through the Atonement. Joseph Smith and Prophet Thomas S. Monson are men called of God. Show more Show less
