Hi I'm Isaac Preston

I'm a surfer. I'm a dairy farmer. I love adventure. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love the ocean and surfing, I spend most of my free time out in the waves when the conditions are good. I love adventure, jumping off waterfalls, finding remote water holes, diving out in the sea, anything really that entails water and adrenalin. I am a triathlete but mostly enjoy the swim and the run, I completed my first half Ironman last January, 2014. I am a dairy farmer, I have to wake up at 3 am to go milk 900 cows. I play guitar and enjoy singing. I was born and raised in the States but moved to New Zealand when I was 15 years old, back to my father's homeland. I love New Zealand, living here has given me a different perspective. I have been called to serve in the Perth Australia mission and will be serving from 27 march, 2014 - 2016. I have a family of seven including myself and love them so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because I know it is true. I know that Heavenly Father's plan for us is true and that we are his spirit children. We are made after the order of our creator. Our purpose in this life is to develop Christlike character and become like our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for the atonement. I know because Heavenly Father loves us he sent his only begotten son to come to earth and to fulfill all righteousness. I know that the atonement is for all of Heavenly Father's children to change us to become more like him. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it was given to us as another testament of Jesus Christ. Because of this I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet called of God, and that he is the prophet of our dispensation. I know that Heavenly Father is a God of revelation and that he did appear unto Joseph Smith to establish his gospel once again on the earth. I know with all certainty that Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ are real and that they live. I know that prayer is real and whenever we are in need of help or of an answer that He is there listening. I love the gospel. I love the ability I have to change each day to become more like our Savior. I know the church is true. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by the small and simple things like attending church, daily prayers, reading my scriptures and so on. When I moved to New Zealand I was exposed to so much and I no longer had individuals or friends who shared the same beliefs as me. At this time in my life I had to apply all that I had been taught as a young child and really decide for myself that I was going to live my faith. I live my faith in my family, we try to create our home as a place of refuge where we can feel peace and love. My family and I also have made it a tradition to attend the temple weekly, standing in these holy places helps bring the spirit into our lives and and blesses us. I live my faith in service, I know when I am in the service of my fellow beings I am only in the service of my god. I love to pray. I know that through prayer we can sincerely speak with heavenly father. Going to school with very little Christians has given me the opportunity to share the gospel with all those around me. You never know the amount of lives that you inspire or influence to do good and it's not because anything you do but because the message of Jesus Christ itself.
