Hi I'm Emily

I'm a missionary. I'm a pianist. I'm an Aggie. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a member of the most wonderful family! My parents are awesome and I am so grateful for their example in my life. My brothers and sisters are some of my greatest friends. They are all wonderful examples to me and I love spending time with them. I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Taiwan, Taichung mission. I couldn't be any more happy than I am serving the Lord! Before my mission, I was a student at Utah State University and I loved it! I'm studying International Business and Economics and plan to add a minor in Mandarin Chinese after I've learned it on my mission. I also loved attending classes and activities at the LDS Institute of Religion on campus. I also worked as a grocery store cashier to help fund college and all of its related expenses. I love music and especially playing the piano. Music has the power to touch everyone around the world. I love being with wonderful people and there are so many of them in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know that His true gospel has been restored to the earth today through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us as His children and has a plan for us. His goal is our eternal happiness. I know that by following the principles and ordinances of the gospel, we can return to Him and be with our families forever. I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can do all things (Phil. 4:13). Our Heavenly Father's plan is made possible through the Atonement. I have come to this knowledge through reading The Book of Mormon. This book contains the principles we need that will bring us closer to God. Moroni issues this challenge in Moroni 10:4-5, "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." I have taken Moroni's challenge in asking with faith and through the power of the Holy Ghost, I know that the Book of Mormon is true. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, all men can come to know of the truth of the gospel. I am so grateful for this knowledge in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always doing my best to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I don't mean that I always do what I should, I just mean that I try my best. I attend ward activities as much as possible and love the friendships I have formed from them. I love being a part of the LDS Institute in classes and as a member of the Institute choir. As a missionary, my purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ. I have done my best as I am preparing for my mission to fill this purpose now. I try my best to follow His example and do things the way He would. I am extremely excited to serve the people of Taiwan as I strive to fulfill this purpose.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ allows us to become better. None of us is perfect and our Heavenly Father knew that we would all make wrong choices. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, was willing to suffer for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross. Because of this, we are given the gift of repentance, and when we sincerely repent, we can be forgiven. This is the greatest gift our Heavenly Father has given us. I have a testimony of the power of the Atonement and I am so grateful to my Savior for what He has done for me. Show more Show less
