Hi I'm Ellen

I'm a Mormon and have been since August, 2013. I am a senior citizen and enjoy talking to any age group.

About Me

I am a wife and mother and love to read, write and take care of my dogs and cat. Right now I am working on a novel and in my spare time enjoy the scriptures. I am also reading the Bible and familiarizing myself with parts of it that I have always wondered about. The Book of Mormon is a great guide in helping me better understand all the scriptures. I was a single mom at one time and have worked in the corporate world most of my life. I am now retired and love spending time at home with my husband and doing small decorating projects. I work on my family history and also volunteer my time with indexing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel this is the true church and gospel. I am one of those lucky souls that found my way to the feet of Jesus Christ through the guidance of some great missionary ladies. For me, the seed of faith was planted years ago when I was a young girl. I always wanted to investigate the church and finally did. I was welcomed in with warmth and understanding. All this has led me to believe that The Book of Mormon is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe that Joseph Smith transcribed The Book of Mormon through our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith and his followers' prayers have been answered because The Book of Mormon has been distributed throughout the world for all people to understand. In Jesus Christ name. Amen.

How I live my faith

I joined the church in August, 2013. Since then I have had one calling which is the church bulletin. I have really enjoyed this because I love to work at the computer. Recently, I have volunteered my time for Indexing and am learning the many areas of that. We have fantastic hometeachers who have blessed us with all their knowledge of The Book of Mormon and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We have many activities at the church for many age groups. I am retired and the church has filled my life with feelings of security and happiness.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Ellen
Mormons believe that the purpose of life - is to get back to our Heavenly Father. We believe in many purpose driven aspects of life but I feel, this is the main purpose. Life to us is a lovely testing ground, where we learn love and hate, right and wrong, evil and goodness. We are given all our lives to learn what Jesus Christ truly wants for us. Our Heavenly Father has directed us all to learn as much in the goodness as we can and to make this world perfect once again. Show more Show less
