Hi I'm Matthew

I grew up in Indiana, I am the oldest child, I enjoy Pokemon, sports, living on the edge, learning, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I went to high school where I learned ASL and played volleyball for a couple years, where I helped to earn a few medals. I am an Eagle Scout and I enjoy Fall/winter and cave camping best. I'm saving money before I go to college; I currently plan to go into medical school. I plan to become an ENT where I can practice my ASL skills in a real life helpful setting, and give aid to those who need my help. I am like any normal kid; although, I still have a wild streak to me and it wouldn't have been uncommon to see me taking on a couple of other kids in an epic digital battle! I like to play games as a social event and my favorite is Pokémon! I was also a bass player, and was pretty phenomenal if I say so myself! (The bass could be described as a giant standing violin.) Also known as the Double bass or Contrabass, I had fun sounding out different hymns and pop culture songs. I like to experiment and I am almost always willing to try something new and fun! For example, when I return to the United States, I intend to go skydiving. My brother is one of my best friends, and im going to miss having epic lightsaber battles with him for two years, but I know that the work I do for the lord will not only bless me, but will bless others with the knowledge of the fullness of God's plan for families. I will give two years of my life, time away from my family and loved ones, to help others be with their families and loved ones for the entirety of eternity. I know that my redeemer lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but I still am a convert to the church. I only recently rediscovered my faith while singing a song, Master the tempest is raging. I had been asking Heavenly Father to help me find the truth, and for a way to be forgiven of my transgressions, and when I started listening to the words in the song, I was given a feeling in my heart, and that is where I began to learn the truth of the church. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lords church, and it is the truest church on the earth. Through this and many more experiences I increase my faith and sure knowledge of the Lords kingdom on the earth! I took the lord up on a challenge to find the truth, and ask him to let me know if I have finally found the full and complete truth, and he testifies to me everyday with a fire in my heart, and a desire to bring this light and truth to others.

How I live my faith

I leave (or left) on December 3rd to serve a full time mission in the Curitiba South Mission, in Brazil where I have the chance to learn Portuguese, and serve the lord on a day to day basis for two full years!

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

The Lord wants whats is best for his children, but some of us have passed onto the afterlife without ever receiving necessary keys to eternal joy, and it is our duty to give them what they cannot attain themselves! We do not interact with the deceased persons physically, only through spirit and proxy (in place of) essentially acting as a sort of volunteer Avatar for them, to receive spiritual gifts. We are a family and we all need to care for each other. Show more Show less
