Hi I'm Madeline

I'm a bookworm, I'm an adventurer, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 4 children, and one of three sisters. My parents both work as lawyers and I've grown up interested in the law and in politics. My father has served in the Army National Guard since I was little and he recently returned from a deployment to Afghanistan. I studied English at Brigham Young University for a year before I came on my mission. In my free time before my mission I enjoyed skiing, running, playing lacrosse, boating and reading all sorts of books and magazines. When I was not not reading or doing sports, I loved to take my siblings out to ice cream and sing to the radio together. While I used to enjoy being with my family, I have left them for 18 months to serve full-time as a missionary for the church. Every day I teach all the people we can find about Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. I love being a missionary!

Why I am a Mormon

After reading the Book of Mormon, I tried to apply the principles I had read about to my life. As I obeyed the commandments and tried to become more Christ-like, I discovered I was happier and my difficulties seemed much easier to bear. I prayed to know if the church was true, and I discovered that it felt right and good. Practicing my faith led me to believe more in the Church and its doctrines as I noticed the enormous improvement in my life when I was obedient. Through my covenants such as baptism, I have felt many blessings and support from my Father in Heaven. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior and perfect example. I know God loves me and has a plan for me to return home to him. I believe in the prophet Joseph Smith and in our modern prophets, especially Thomas S. Monson. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and I'm very grateful to be a member. I'm a Mormon, I know it, I live it, and I love it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by trying to live my life in a Christ-like and Christian manner. Although I'm not anywhere near perfection, I am trying to become the woman that Christ would like me to be. Currently I am serving as a full-time missionary for the church, and I love to teach people every day about the joy and blessings that come through Jesus Christ and His gospel which He has restored to us today. Instead of continuing my schooling and my regular life at home, I spend every day giving service, teaching people about Jesus Christ and trying to help people draw closer to their Savior. Through my service as a missionary, I am learning how to better apply the principles of the gospel in my life and how I should live my life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
