Hi I'm Sister Kimi Wheelock

I'm from Idaho and am a convert to the church of Jesus Christ of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I love to sing and dance and am always open to trying new things! I am a college student who loves having fun and meeting new people and procrastinating my homework. I have been going to school to be an Elementary teacher because I love children and the sweet spirits they are. I am not certain if this is something I want to continue to study, so I have some exploring to do! I love spending time outdoors with friends and family. I really enjoy snowboarding and dirt biking. I was introduced to skiing when I was very young, but when I tried snowboarding, I fell in love with it! I try to go as many times a season as I can. You can really admire and enjoy nature to the fullest. A new found talent/love/interest is photography. I have gotten to more discover and love nature as I take lasting pictures of it. I am considering taking up photography school. I really like going camping and hiking with my family in the summer months, family time is something I cherish. I love my family even though we don’t see eye to eye. Music is a passion I have. It's a great way to express myself. One thing I love about this church is the music. I am a convert to the church and am so glad of my decision to join. It hasn’t been an easy journey, but one that has been very worthwhile and gratifying. I’m Kimi, and I’m a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has testified to me that it is true. I chose to be baptized on my own accord at the age of 13. My family aren't members, but I have hope and faith that one day they will come unto Christ and join His church. It hasn't been easy being a member of a faith that your family doesn't choose to follow, but I wouldn't follow any other. This is the true church and I know that the Lord won't throw anything in my path, nor yours, that we won't be able to overcome. I follow the Lord's commandments so that I can have eternal life and live with Him again in His kingdom. I know that through the Lord Jesus Christ, we are able to do this. He took upon Him all our sins individually, what we call the infinite atonement. When you repent, you are changing. Christ has already paid for your sin, you're just doing your part. This is the only way we can get back to our Heavenly Father. The Book of Mormon is true. I have read it and the spirit testifies of it's truth every time I open the pages. If you haven't already, please read it. You won't regret reading the Lord's scripture. I know that without Joseph Smith, we wouldn't be able to have the Book of Mormon today. I know that God has called a prophet and his name is Thomas S. Monson. Read it and know of it's truth. If you pray to know if it to be true, you will receive an answer, this I know to be true. Christ lives. This church is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live the commandments that the Lord has put in place for our well being. I have had many opportunities to serve in different settings, and I know one thing is for certain; you are closest to God when you are in the service of your fellow men. We are all God's children. Those who know me, know I'm Mormon. My family is not of the same faith as me. This was a hard task to undertake when I made the decision to be baptized. I love the conversations that have been made possible with my decision. Some of my family has turned to me in times of despair because they know that I faithfully attend church. It's through the small and simple things that great things are brought to pass. I know that if you do the right things, the Lord makes everything possible. God is great. I am privileged to serve a mission for Him. I am serving in the New York Utica Mission and am sharing this good news with all of the people whom I come into contact. I love it.
