Hi I'm Christine

I grew up in Southern California. I love reading, exercising and spending time with my family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My parents joined to the church in Brazil in their youth and served missions there. They immigrated to the U.S. before starting their own family in California. I served a mission in France and later met my husband in a French conversation class in college, while getting my degree in Math Education. We have 4 children and our oldest is now serving in Japan. Since being married, we have lived in Utah, Virginia, Maryland, Oahu, and North Carolina. We are blessed to have made many friends from different religions, races and backgrounds. I am so grateful that no matter where we go around the world, we have an instant family within the local LDS church. I love being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but my parents taught me how they sacrificed much once they gained a testimony and wanted to join the church. Through the witness of the spirit, even as a young girl, I know that the Book of Mormon is sacred scripture written and translated by the Lord's prophets. I know there is a living prophet today. How can I not follow what the Lord has told me to be true and good? If the Book of Mormon is true, if the prophet is a true prophet of God, then the church and all it's teachings are true. It is the church of Jesus Christ. Who do I want to follow? My Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus-Christ or what "the world" teaches to be true and acceptable?

How I live my faith

Besides dedicating 18 months as a missionary in France, I have served in many callings in our various wards (congregations) that we have lived. I have taught the women in the women's organization, led the choir, taught nursery aged children through teens, played the piano and even was a den mother for the cub scouts. I love spending time with my "church family" of any age and as a mother I appreciate those who work with and set a wonderful example to my children.
