Hi I'm Ashlyn Perry

I grew up in Utah. I have a passion for music. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a crazy person. Probably my favorite hobby is to laugh and joke with friends and family. I love the outdoors and love doing anything that requires a little challenge. My family loves to go camping and four wheeling in the summer just to enjoy God's beautiful creations. I also have a passion for music. I play piano, ukulele, and sing fairly decent, but I love it nonetheless. I attended college to become a music major, to learn to compose, but put my dream on hold to fulfill another--to serve a full time mission. The Dominican Republic will be my home for 18 months and I couldn't be more excited :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in Utah so I have always been surrounded by people with my same values. Although I have such good influences everywhere, my faith still waivers just like anyone else. When I was sixteen, I lost my dad to cancer. I struggled for a long time with my testimony of the Savior and the Atonement, but by reaching out to Him and having faith that the Atonement could heal me, I gained a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and the Great Plan of Happiness. I am a Mormon because I believe God has a plan for each of us. I believe we all have a divine purpose for being on this earth, which is to prove ourselves worth of living in the presence of our Eternal Father and to become like Him. I know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love me, as well as you. I am a Mormon because I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my actions. I try to set an example to everyone I come in contact with because I know my actions will either lead them towards or away from Jesus Christ. I want to live a life that my Savior would be proud of. I live my faith through music and the spirit that it brings. Music provides such great emotion that aids in inviting the spirit. When I'm feeling down, I love to sing hymns because they hold a calming power that cannot be found elsewhere. I love The Book of Mormon (the brother of Jared is my favorite). Reading the stories in The Book of Mormon brings me so much joy. The faith and devotion to the Lord is truly inspiring. I live my faith through my calling. I teach the 4-5 year olds in primary and I absolutely love it. I never cease to be in awe at how much they understand at such a young age. Those kids teach my more that I teach them. I want to "become as a little child" because they really are so innocent and full of the light of Christ.
